Arakkis is the homeworld of the Fremens, a planet entirely covered by desert and often referred to as the desert planet. This inhospitable world is only suitable for the Fremens, a community adapted to its harsh conditions. The most significant aspect of Arakkis is the Spice, a valuable resource found within the planet's desert sands. The Fremens are the ones who discovered it.
The Spice grants its users increased strength, power, and lifespan. However, when the resource was discovered, soldiers of the Emperor, primarily the Harkonnens from Giedi Prime, arrived to harvest it.
